		<abstract>The aim of this study was to monitor grapevines cycle through temporal profiles of vegetation indices from Landsat 8/OLI images and to identify the diferences in two canopy training systems. For this, NDVI and EVI images from Landat 8/OLI images were used, July 2013 to May 2016 from two Merlot vineyards located in the Serra Gaúcha region, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In the vineyards, the training system were horizontal (Geneva double courtain) and vertical (bilateral cordon). NDVI and EVI means were used in temporal vegetation indices profiles by training systems. The results indicated that the temporal NDVI and EVI profiles from Landsat-8/OLI images correctly characterized the vinegrapes cycle (vegetative development and dormancy stages) in the study region. There are differences between temporal NDVI and EVI profiles according to the training system: bilateral cordon had lower vegetation indices due to comparative less vine vigour and the contribution from the vegetation existing between vineyards rows (grasses and weeds). The average EVI values in the vine cyle (October to May) discriminated the training systems. The results indicated that temporal NDVI and EVI profiles from Landsat 8/OLI images can be used in grapevine cycle monitoring and training systems Geneva double courtain and bilateral cordon identification in the Serra Gaucha region.</abstract>
